Understand the Purpose: The inventory module in Wise Option is designed to help you manage your inventory effectively. It allows for advanced functionalities such as managing multiple inventory locations, maintaining running balances of total inventory by location and individual items, and keeping comprehensive history logs of all inventory-related activities.
Analyze Your Needs: Before diving in, analyze whether you'll be working with one inventory location or multiple locations. This decision impacts how you'll set up and use the module. Keep in mind that managing multiple locations may require additional training for your team.
Navigate to Inventory Location Settings: In Wise Option, go to the settings related to inventory locations. This is where you'll set up and manage the locations from which your inventory will be pulled.
Choose Single or Multiple Locations: Based on your analysis, decide whether you'll be working with one inventory location or multiple locations. Remember, if you choose multiple locations, ensure that your team understands how to select the correct location when performing inventory-related tasks.
Consider Inventory Transfers: If you opt for multiple inventory locations, consider how you'll manage inventory transfers between locations. Wise Option allows you to enter these transfers, but it will require some extra effort to keep track of inventory movements accurately.
Start with One Location (if applicable): If you're dealing with multiple locations, consider starting with one location at a time. Perform a hard count of inventory for that location, input the current levels into Wise Option, and monitor the accuracy over time before moving on to other locations. This approach also helps in training your staff effectively.
Explore Further Setup Options: Once you've decided on your approach and set up your initial inventory location(s), explore additional setup options within the inventory module. This may include configuring specific settings, setting up alerts, or integrating with other modules within Wise Option.
Seek Assistance: If you encounter any challenges or have questions while setting up the inventory module, don't hesitate to reach out to the Wise Option support team. They can provide guidance and assistance tailored to your specific needs.
