Overview

In this tutorial, we explore changing a horse's recurring rate using the recurring module, allowing for seamless adjustments without needing to check the horse out and back in. This is a process commonly needed when a patient's situation changes, such as moving from one location to another or switching between different types rates, ensuring accurate billing and record-keeping without overlapping charges.

IMPORTANT: This feature should NOT be used when trying to correct a patient's rate that was originally checked in under the wrong rate. Please see the page below if needed.

Step-by-Step Guidance

  1. Access the Recurring Module: Log in to Wise Option and navigate to the Recurring Module.

  2. Select the Horse: Identify the horse whose board rate needs to be changed.

  3. Initiate Rate Change: Click on the "Change Rate" button located at the bottom left corner of the screen.

  4. Search for New Board Rate: Use the search function to find and select the new board rate for the horse.

  5. Verify Last Day on Current Rate: Double-check the last day the horse was on the current rate.

  6. Adjust Date if Necessary: If the rate change needs to be applied retroactively, adjust the date accordingly.

  7. Select Location: Choose the appropriate location for the rate change.

  8. Choose Same-Day Charging Option: Decide whether to charge for the same day the rate change is being applied.

  9. Apply Rate Change: Click on the "Change Rate" button to apply the new board rate.

  10. Review Procedure Screen: After the rate change is processed, review the horse's procedure screen to confirm the change.

  11. Verify Period Date: Check the new period date for the horse to ensure accuracy.

  12. Finalize Charges: At the end of the billing period, ensure charges are applied correctly based on the new board rate.

  13. Ensure No Overlaps: Confirm that there are no overlaps between the old and new board rates.

  14. Caution: Remember, this process is only intended for cases where the horse was originally on the correct rate and then changes to a new rate. Do not use this process if the horse was initially checked in under the incorrect rate.
