Foaling Out a Mare

Overview

This tutorial will review how to foal out a mare in Wise Option with the option to create a new patient file for the foal at the same time. The system needs to recognize the mare as pregnant in order to be available for foal out. Please make sure the mare's current status says "IN FOAL".

Step-by-Step Guidance

1. Summary Card > Preg Check Log

2. Foal Out

3. Fill out the foal out form > Save

4. You may wish to print for your records. You can always come back and print later.

5. Wise Option will then ask if you would like to make a new patient file. We recommend always saying yes to this.

6. The sex will default to what was entered on the Foal Out form. Please fill in the rest of the information > Save.

7. The foal's patient file will be automatically linked to the mare's (recip in the case of ET and broodmare in the case of a mare that carried) file and enter pedigree info on the foal's patient file.

Web App

This feature is not relevant or present on the Web App version of Wise Option.
