Fix it: Mare Bred to Incorrect Stallion and Foal Out has Occurred
Overview
This guide reviews how to fix records for cases involving foals born from a carry-own mare or a fresh embryo transfer originating from an embryo flush, in which the sire was entered incorrectly. Specifically, it does not cover scenarios involving vitrified or ICSI embryos.
Occasionally, during the breeding process, an error might occur where the wrong stallion is recorded as the sire. This mistake might only come to light after the mare has given birth. This guide provides a step-by-step process to correct such errors in the breeding records.
